According to the latest figures published by Johns Hopkins University16,055,909 cases have been detected worldwide, with 644,661 deaths and 9,267,601 people recovered.

In the USA, there have been 4,178,730 confirmed cases and 146,463 deaths, with 1,279,414people recovered from the virus.

Global cases past 16 million

According to figures compiled by Johns Hopkins University, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases worldwide now stands at over 16 million.Nearly 650,000 people have lost their lives to the novel coronavirus. 

The US remains the country most badly affected by the disease with over four million people confirmed to have been infected and nearly 150,000 deaths.
